Still not here YET

Here is a good laugh.... it's of our "manx" cat (our youngest), and since he doesn't have a tail (he was born that way) he can sit up like a human. I think his spine HAS to be made out of JELLO.

The BABY is still not here yet, I hope it comes this week.. I want the baby to have a July b-day... so babydaddy and baby could have co-b-days... ;)

Hubby and I will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary this week on July 27/28 (we had 2 ceremonies) probably not doing anything but PRAYING that the kid leaves the womb that day.

Then my MOM lands on the 30th. I am so excited about her coming. I can't wait. I wish my parents lived closer, plane tickets and all that jazz suck.

My sis might be moving too, and it's a long distance as well, so my whole family will be spread all over the country... It's tough, but since hubby and I have done a LOT of the travelling in the last 5 years or so to be with family at various times, we figure now, THEY OWE US... I personally don't really want to be travelling with an infant, plain and simple and neither does he. So at this time, if you want to see us, come and visit. Don't expect us to do all night drives anymore, or 16 hours at a stretch... we love our family/friends, but it's time for them to come out here :)

Babies and Weddings

So it's the 20th, 11 days til the DUE DATE, but the DUE DATE is a bunch of shit.

WHY?... cause that's when they (devilish doctors) THINK you are DUE, but really they LIE, and they LIE BAD.

I think maybe the heat is getting to me or something, maybe I am going delirious? I don't know, but I don't like being told that I will go over my DUE DATE. It's not a nice thing to tell someone who feels like her whole lower body is going to EXPLODE.

Ok, that's all, and the ice cream was soo good, I need more though, and I think after I have this kid, and my stomach goes back to regular size I am going to eat as much as I want just because I can, and worry about working out later.

Also a congrats to my friend, BREE, she called today and told me she is engaged to get married, and while I might not be able to attend the ceremony (it's out of state) I am so happy for her and wish her the best, and of course she better send me pictures, she is really bad about pictures. I will have to tell her hubby to teach her how to use a digital camera!

A Tubful of Ice Cream

I am thinking that any day now it will happen, and when I went into the doc's today, he looks and me and tells me most likely I will go over my due date. (ARGH!)

So I have secretly talked with the kiddo and told it to come now, like today would be fine. I just want to prove the doctor that I am not going to have a late baby. It will be fashionably early.

I am so sick of the 90+ degrees weather, the afternoon clouds, that just make it more humid, and almost never release rain. I am so sick of moving like a slug and having my hubby imitate that in public.

Oh please send something like a smoke signal or a prayer or something, so that this kid gets the show on the road. I am not patient. Oh no, not at all. I think I might miss the baby inside me, NOT, I think it was a neat experience being pregnant, but I am over that... way over it. I now just want to hold it and look at it, and maybe one day ask it to mow the lawn so Hubby can hang with me...

Next baby we have will be a winter or a spring baby, no more of this craptastic hot weather and pregnancy.

Anyone have ice cream? I need a tubful. Thanks!

Deep Thoughts?

(another one from my xanga site)

Ahhh... I am so ready for the new year. This coming fall is going to be so hard. I hate knowing that I know what's coming, but really having no idea. I have heard from many parents on how hard it's going to be, and you are never really prepared. I feel like the hubby and I are prepared somewhat. I mean we haven't had any kids before, but we have pets, and we have been around lots of family and friends that have kids. I know I know that it's NOT the same.

I just think at this point I know what I want to do, and how I want to raise my child, I just hope I can follow through and carry it out. We'll see, either that or you will see the CHILD raising me and hubby. (sometimes I hear that's the way it REALLY works)

Gosh I wonder why all these "deep thoughts" are coming out, must be the hormones.

Ch Ch Ch CHAAAAAAAAAANGES!

(This is my post from my Xanga site)

So I got to thinking, *yes I know*
and I was wondering about what makes people change, and not for the better.

I never understood it. I am not saying that I am perfect. But I know when I make a mistake or hurt someone. I might not always be perfect about the way I handle situations, but I try to make an honest effort to right things. You know the whole karma thing.

Lately I am thinking that some people aren't worth the effort that I have. I have a baby coming and a husband, and a house, and school and so many other things going on, that negative people just can't claim my attention anymore.

This is part of my reply to CYTOSTEPH's xanga entry :
"It's hard to accept that sometime friendships aren't what they used to be, or even to accept that people change. A good friend of mine has told me that you shouldn't feel bad for not keeping all the ppl you ever knew as friends as that is a lot of work, but especially the ones that don't show they are friends to you. There was someone in a church group that I thought was a good friend actually someone I tried to mentor, and I found out she was saying horrible things about me to other people. I don't need to waste time confronting her or even worrying. I have so much good and so many wonderful people in my life, that if she is talking about me I could care less. It doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt, but it's sad that this person couldn't come to me and tell me. She has this problem and has pretty much alienated herself and her husband from the whole group of friends, so I know it wasn't something I really did."

And it's not ONLY this person, there have been many people in the past and present that aren't what they appear to be, and I, as I have gotten older, have to be more careful of who I let in my life.

With this baby coming I want to be a better person, and that means surrounding myself with good friends and family. People who support me and tell me like it is TO MY FACE, not shitting on me behind my back. I have always tried to do the same thing.

OK this was kinda deep, so I will stop before I overuse the noggin!

Redeemed or NOT?

So the hubby has redeemed himself. A card and flowers seemed to do the trick this time :)

I think we are just ready for the anticipation of the arrival of the "bundle of joy" to go away, and to actually have the baby here in our arms so we can figure out waht kinds of havoc it will wreak on us! and that we also have frayed nerves. Not to mention Hubby is in the LAST semester of school to finish his masters, and is still working.

I am out to ya ya pregnant with baby, and it's hot as hell here in Colorado and the mosquitoes just piss me the hell off!

I just melted down last night.. well the middle of the night actually. But for now all is well with the world, and hopefully I can get to sleep tonite.

So the nursery is almost done, once I get my memory card for my new camera and stuff I promise to take oodles of pics for ppl who are interested to see the room. And I will take some last minute preggo pictures.

So the hubby found THIS and THIS, and now I am not so sure he should be redeemed, what do you think Internet?

MAD

Some men are jerks.
That's all I want to say right now.

I am not able to sleep anymore, and no one cares. Is this what my life is going to be like forever?

Not happy at all. And on top of it, I am fat and lazy now, or so I have been told.

I don't think I will speak to jerks anymore.

Going to go and lay in bed and fume more. Maybe that will make me feel better.

My sis and I on her graduation day from college Posted by Hello

Here's the man who DID this to me, and look how proud he looks! Posted by Hello

YEAH, HAPPY DAY!

happy birthday to me! lol,

now now, I just am excited about the camera that my hubby surprised me with, and he also decorated the cake himself, isn't that the sweetest! I am going to play around with the camera and hope to have some pics up soon :)

Can't wait to start the DAY!

Ok... I don't know what has happened, but my comments are all funky and messed up... sorry about that...hopefully it will be corrected soon... E-lo is so sweet, and if that's how you found my site. Thank you so much for coming to visit! She is AWESOME!

Don't touch the belly!

Thank goodness it's Friday. I am so ready for this weekend. We are going to a WEDDING. Summer weddings are a lot of fun. I don't think I have been to a wedding that was NOT in the summer... summer to me being from like May to Septemberish...

I have been invited to weddings at other times of the year, but because of school, or just no cheap flights (or this year can't fly cause too preggo- sorry sis (hers is in Sri Lanka) and cousin), I have had to decline. But summer weddings I think are WAY more expensive. I know ours was.

I have my outfit all ready, I can't wait to get dressed up... even if it's maternity dress up. I am must excited to get my hair all coiffed, and my nails done. Just feeling a lil glamourous is nice. This coming from the girl who pretty much schlumps around in pajamas or shorts most days, cause it's too much effort to get all gussed up to be hanging at home.

Well best get the beauty sleep going, need all the help I can get to look GOOD tomorrow.

And if anyone touches my stomach tomorrow I might haul off and hit them. I don't think I can handle random people touching the pregnancy belly.

Worried

So last night and this morning the fetus (since I don't know if it's a girl or a boy, for sure) did not move much. I was so worried, because usually it feels like a full blown soccer game or karate in there, but for the life of me I couldn't understand why I couldn't feel anything.

So panicky I called the OB/GYN and he said for me to come in, to monitor, and baby is perfectly fine.

Then he told me that women worry more about things than men. I agree.
DH did not really worry much, but did tell me to call the doc just in case, he said babies do this. HOW THE CRAP DOES HE KNOW, he's never had a BABY before, has he? I wonder how he keeps his cool, and how come I can't. He doesn't seems worried about much. I don't GET it.

So I am looking for some fish templates today to cut out and Steph gave me a good idea to velcro it on the walls, rather than to glue it. DUH... I should have thought of that.

Ok, well off to work on it, oh yeah and to go and get the suitcase packed just in case I go early.

Oh and my fortune cookie from lunch today had 2 fortunes in it :

1) You are heading for a land of sunshine and relaxation
2) From the floors of the ocean, the waves of the tide, a vacation awaits you far and wide.

Hmmmmm... vacation time, does that mean this baby is going to be a "vacation"?

Cookie Babies

So one of us in the childbirth class had her kid on Monday... now they are "childbirth class dropouts" She was 3.5 weeks early. Their advice to us was : "pack your suitcase tonite". They didn't have anything ready. Neither do I, so I better quit procrastinating. I am so envious. The baby is healthy and all. I just wish it was ME.

So I got cookies, and milk and before that ate chili for dinner. I figure the spices should help the kid decide if he/she wants to hurry it up here. And the cookies are to satisfy my own gluttony.

Ugh, now I feel sick.. maybe shouldn't have mixed all that together. So yuck.

Going to lay down.

OK kidding, really I think I will PUKE.

Zoo Donuts

Sorry it's been a few days since the last post, not that I really did THAT much, but it's been getting pretty BIZZZAAAY here.

and NO not in THAT way.

For Father's Day/my and a friend's b-day we went to the Denver Zoo. It is one of my favorite places. I also love watching Animal Planet. I think I should have been a vet, but medical school, whether it be for humans or animals I don't think I can handle it.

Anyway, the day starts out by me giving Hubby a card from the cats he is a proud papa to, and then the card from the ever-growing fetus, and me. He looks appropriately fatherly and tells me thank you, and then OFF WE GO!

Oh yeah did I mention it was like 90 something degrees yesterday, so we do manage to be smart and take a JUG of water (which we polish off in like 2 hours) and sunblock. No burns yesterday.

My favorite was the monkeys *the capuchins were so adorable* Hubby keeps telling me these are my ancestors. And then I look at his feet, which look remarkable like the gorillas we visit next, and I ask him if he really IS Tarzan.

God, the love in this family, let me tell ya.

So the only crappy part that I felt like I was going to die in (which non-pregnant I LOVE) was in the tropical aquaruim thing. It was more humid than Houston in an armpit.
I thought I was going to pass out and then one of the reticulated pythons were going to curl around and EAT ME.

So after about 8 hours of walked around, me and hubby left, got some drinks and dounts (lil chocolate ones) at the gas station and went home. All in all a good day, but tiring.

My mother tells me not to do anything like that for a long while.

I promise, until SHE gets here (aka babysitting baby), I won't go to the Zoo again.

Look at the comment : It's about my B-day. And really I am not kidding, I will be PISSED. No, I am kidding, except for you HUBBY. PRESENTS, WANT PRESENTS.

Clean house, but for how long....

So this weekend was actually productive, the reason being was the DSL connection was down, don't know why, but that is what Hubby "told" me...

So we ended up cleaning the house TOP to bottom.. and when I say TOP to bottom I mean all 3 floors.. and all the nitty gritty.

I have never seen the house this clean, do guys get into the nesting mode? I don't know.

Anyway so right now, the house is spotless (Well one of the cats yakked in our bedroom floor) but essentially spotless. I am just amazed, but I have a feeling that it's all just set to implode and will be violently messy, like a blow-out... for those who are parents, you know what I mean.

I haven't really been able to sleep well anymore either, guess the day is coming upon us... need to do something about kid's room... just procrastinating so when I am in labor I can have something to do/bitch about.

Cars

I was talking with Hubby today, and we were talking about kids we know that are still in High School and stuff, and came across the subject of cars.

Hubby got a nice (new) Chevy truck on his 16th birthday or thereabouts.

What did I get? A WHOLE LOT OF JACK SQUAT. Actually since I was late with dad's car once after I turned 16 I never got to drive myself for like 6 months.

But lil sis got a car, (albeit dad's ole car) but that was also when she turned 16ish....

So pissed was I.... Anyway I was thinking,

The kids in high school now, What do you drive?

At some HS parking lots I have seen cars that are worth more than what Hubby makes in a year. It's scary.

And people out of high school and in the world, what did you drive in High school?

Just wondering if I was the only lame-o that rode the &*#&$*# BUS my SENIOR year?

And if I am, please lie.

But for all who want to know, I bought (well the now Hubby and I ) a 1999 Teal Green Grand AM GT... power everything. It kicked ass, and I miss it. Damn that Baylor idiot girl for slamming into me and ruining it in Thanksgiving of 2000.

I now drive a 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4x4. It's nice and sporty, but I want a Volvo Stationwagon CROSSCOUNTRY! my dream... (sigh)

BLAH in Blog Waters

It must be something in the blog waters... because as I am sitting here typing I just feel so blah, I have seen SJ's posts, and Indiogirl's posts... and it seems like we are just feeling blah... maybe it's the onset of the summer, I don't know.

I got up yesterday morning EARLY like 6:45ish... and then doodled around until Hubby left for work, and then got back in bed at like 10:30ish, and slept til 12:30noonish, and then doodled around town, and then came back home, called Hubby all panicky since on the news we had like killer tornado storms all around and I didn't want him on the roads any later, and told him to leave RIGHT THEN (he listened, thank God) and NO the killer storms did not kill us, duh.

Then I just laid in bed watching mindless TV... though I thought it was funny that Nicole Kidman had to borrow a co-workers bra to wear to Oprah, she barely has boobies! But Oprah was interrupted 3 times by the killer weather storms.

All in all I laid in bed, and vegged ALL FREAKING DAY. What is wrong with me?

Earlier this week I will report that I did have Braxton-Hicks contractions. Which are kinda painful, but more like a PMSy cramp, not so bad... but you definitely know they are there... and when you lay down and put your feet up and just relax they go away or dissapate... well at least for me they did...

I know I said that we were finally going to paint sometime last weekend, but we were lazy... so we are going to attempt again this weekend. Well I am going to clean out the room, and he will paint cause he is OCD about the wood trim and the fact that he thinks I suck at painting.

I will post pictures once the room looks like a baby can live in it.

Yuck

So Memorial Day here was a soaker. Except for Saturday, which was glorious, the rest of the weekend was a wash, literally.

It's great for the plants, but when it's like 50 degrees, rainy, and you are in your college hoodie and sweatpants... it really doesn't feel like the beginning of the summer at all.

So we got some plants this weekend to plants, we have the native COLUMBINE, in regular (bluish) and a new one in pink. I also picked out a hanging plant that is called a "tahitian bridal veil", it's so pretty when it has it's blooms, but me not being a green thumb might have a tough time with it... We will have to bring it inside when it gets cold, and we will have to mimic South American conditions here in Colorado. So keep your fingers crossed that I can do that. (ha)

Am I really this boring? I am writing about a PLANT that I am excited about? whoa, I used to be a spunky kickass punkrawk wanna-be chicka... where DID that go?

Oh sorry I have to go now my cat decided to jump right onto this desk and lick water out of my betta's bowls, this cat has got some guts.... RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME (Iget no respect) ARGH!

Comments

so I have added this HaloScan commenting thing that I saw on a bunch of other blogs, but I am still learning people.

So if some of the comments that you left are no longer here... I am so sorry... I emailed the ppl at Haloscan and am awaiting an answer.

So in other news, I will be making Jamaican Jerk Chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner...
*(gasp)* i know that several of the ppl that know me fell over in a faint. They are thinking... "Whoa that's too fancy and that idiot can't make that!"

Well it's an easy recipe.

Get some chicken breasts
jamaican jerk seasoning
5 lemons,
5 limes
a number of jalepenos (spelling is wrong on that.. oh well)
and zip lock baggies (big kind)

and throw it all together (well obviously cut up and squeeze the lemons and limes onto the chicken, and also the jerk seasoning)

put it all into the fridge for a few hours (however long it takes til hubby fires up the grill)

don't put it in the oven as I think it dries it out more.

If you try it, let me know if you like it or hate it.

And if you hate it... well you must not follow directions... haha :)

Trip Recap

ok so I just got back from vacation today.

to recap very briefly (as I am so tired and it's already freaking midnight)

1) we almost were hit by a train in TX
2) the boat starter was rewired incorrectly so we never got to use the boat in tx
3) lovely edema in my ankles, it's fine now, but man I can't wait til the child doesn't affect my
body this way
4) friend we were going to stay with ended up getting very ill and we cancelled our 3rd leg of our
trip
5) boat trailed behind jeep and completely fully loaded was at max capacity of 9000 lbs. It was slow going and we took backroads all the way home
6) without air conditioning as we were afraid of overheating the jeep
7) while 7 months pregnant.

All in all, while it was nice to see my sis and bro-in-law graduate, and to see my mom and in-laws, etc... and frineds... I am SOOOOOOOO glad to be back at home with our little zoo of cats, and dog. I can't wait to get into my nice and comfy KING bed, not that there is anything wrong with a smaller bed, but this way hubby and I don't fight over sheets!

goodnite, will expand on trip recap tomorrow sometime, oh yeah first childbirth class is tomorrow, wish hubby and me luck, I hope we meet some cool parents-to-be!

Storms a coming! Posted by Hello

Babymoon

So the flood saga has ended for now, right after our brilliant neighbors turned off the water, it started to hail and rain here.. still cloudy, how is that for Murphy's Law?

Getting ready for the "babymoon", well really it's a graduation (my sis and bro-in-law's) and seeing family and friends... So not really any quality time with hubby by ourselves, but we are such family people I think we will love it anyways.

Hubby said he is feeling achy and tired all over. I told him REPEATEDLY to get a doc's appt, he I think has a secret fear of doctors, but passes it off as he is too busy to see one. I don't want him to hate our vacation just cause he is being a dum dum. But thank goodness we have friends who forked over money and got thru medical school, otherwise how would we have gotten thru the horrendous time we got food poisioning the same day we saw Passion of the Christ. That is a story for another day... oh man... I still can't eat hot dogs.

Well my blog will be intermittent for a few days, but please leave messages I will have some access!

Oh yeah and once we get back.. guess what we have to look forward to? YES YES CHILDBIRTH classes!

I am sure hubby is going to be SO thrilled.

Toodles! and I think I will have blogging withdrawl!

Floods, Part Deux

So.. I wake up this morning and hubby says that CABLE man came over (for neighbors who aren't flooding us) to hook up their cable. The cable box for the block is in our yard. Well hubby told the issue to the cable guy and they went to look at the box. Cable guy agrees with us that it is in no way runoff! The cable box and TELEPHONE box are completely full of water. These IDIOT neighbors can't or won't turn off the water. The stream of water is now in the street in the FRONT yard (cause I guess all of the backs of our yards are so flooded) and all the way down to the end of the block (about 500-600 feet). This is getting so ridiculous. Hubby is calling the city.
So we'll see what they can do, in the end I just hope they get a clue and turn off the water!

Added 12:00noon: The city came out right after the cable man did and told us that this is considered a "code violation" and they can have the police come out and fine them... we want to give them a chance to turn the water off.. so maybe tomorrow if they haven't we will talk with the police department and see what legal recourse options we have, we don't want to be jerks, but I think they are being jerks right now by not turning off the water.

Added 3:00pm: ok, so neighbor's son come to house and we see him and stop to speak with him and show him the issues. He agrees with us that this is NOT runoff... he states that it has to be something else. But the only problem is that all their sprinklers have good water pressure meaning their lines haven't been messed up.. it could be a city water line, a main... MY issue is I know it's not our issue, we turn all of our water off, and whether it's the neighbor's fault or the city's I want this insanity of water to STOP. It's ruining our yard, and eventually I am afraid it will creep into the basement. Son never said if he was going to turn the water off or not.. alluded he might.. so we know nothing.. why is it so hard to turn off the water? please someone clue me in...

Floods

Scenario Friday : Our neighbor is flooding our yard. Hubby wants to wait and see if they turn off the valve. It has flooded part of our yard, the whole yard behind it (but no one there- foreclosed) and the back of another yard (that does not have a sprinkler system). We have told the lady who owns the home (it has to be them as they are the high point on the block). She said she would talk to her son who installed the sprinkler system to see what could be the issue. Hubby told her that in the meantime they might just want to shut off the valve so the water would stop coming (they haven't yet).

Sooo move onto scenario today :

Hubby went over there today to talk to them. Neighbor's boyfriend was not to thrilled with Hubby for telling him what was going on, and pretty much asked him to leave. But before he left all 3 walked around in THEIR yard, and it is completely SQUISHY, just like the corner of our yard closest to them (but you can also see the standing water in our yard). I think they know their's a problem, but Boyfriend thinks it's more of a "water runoff"... yeah but like 60- 100 gallons? it is no way runoff... runoff would evaporate in this dry Colorado climate. This water is standing and will quickly become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, especially for those West Nile types, and if they EVEN think I will let that happen...

well it's not.. no way am I jeopardizing the health of my family, pets, etc, just cause I want to be nice and give them time to figure out what to do... the SIMPLE thing for them would be just to SHUT OFF THE MAIN VALVE TO THEIR SPRINKLERS. (they still haven't) ...then they can figure out what went wrong. All I want is for the water to stop coming in our yard. It's a waste and even worse a health hazard.

Hubby spoke with his mom today and she said that when they see their water bill, they will definitely turn off the water.

I just don't want to wait til then. What if the yard floats away? HELP, any ideas?

By the way, Happy Mother's Day!

Poop

Hubby and I had a lengthy discussion about poop today. I think with the impending poop factory that will be our child, we talked about who has the responsibility to clean up the current stock of pet poop. I stated that since I can't be around cat matter and in essence dog matter that he is stuck, and I KNOW that I will be handling the baby matter. Therefore there is no need for him to bitch at me.

He then proceeded to talk about poop in theoretical terms. "Did you know that about 100 million people poop at the same time around the world?"

I asked,"What about the animals and the insects and the water life that poop collectively (possibly at the same time)?"

He replied," Can you imagine if we could harness all the poop? or the energy? "

Yeah this is the stuff we talk about, and YES we both went and GRADUATED from college.

I know that poop will be a big topic in our household, but geez. He did get me thinking, but then I had to go...

Beautiful

Take a look at this site. I love his pottery, but to call is pottery is not describing it correctly, just take a look! Click on the gallery link and you can see all the current ones he has completed.

He is a good friend of ours and is based out of Austin Texas.

It's that time O' year

Can't believe it's already May, and yet it's stinking cold and rainy, geez it feels like Boston.

So had a great weekend, our friends threw us a co-ed baby shower, and it was a lot of fun! Hubby and I had a great time, and the baby got lots of goodies that I want to play with...

I have a feeling that I will miss being so irresponsible and carefree and that I am going to do a complete transformation this year. I am scared that I won't be able to recognize who I am after this baby arrives. I hope I will be a better person, but I don't know. It's kinda scary.

Ok but that was just after all this shower stuff, it gets you believing that the baby is really COMING.

Ok... enough baby stuff.

Well but that's all that happened this weekend (and that we had a great time with tons of friends!)

FYI: now that I am almost done with the semester I should get a little prolific on this blog, I hope. We will be going on a "babymoon" for a few days, but I should have internet access, and hopefully not the (ugh) dial-up variety.

Why couldn't it be ME???

Yes yes, as you all have heard now Katie Holmes and my hubby are dating... oops I meant Tom Cruise.

She is sOOOOOOO lucky. But why not me? I am cute (out of shape, yeah) but I am also a year younger than her.

I also have anonymity, I can give him privacy, she is still in Hollywood.

(*sigh*) I have loved him longer, and I will be sad if they get married, but weirdly enough I do think they look very striking together. Hmmmm...

Maybe he is really trying to find me out here, and has to go through all these beautiful Hollywood types til he finds me.

Congrats Katie. I wish I was you...

oops.. hope hubby doesn't read this one :)

and if he does.. HONEY you look WAY better than he does!

Head's up?!

Well went to the doc today (we have to see all 5 of the docs there, so today it was a woman doc), and they told me that I was 26 weeks and 3 days along. I asked the nurse if the due date was still the same, she looked at her computer and said that it said 26 weeks and 3 days. Well when lil old me calculated that out, it shows as a week earlier... JULY 31 instead of August 8th.

That's also hubby's b-day. So while I am excited about baby and daddy sharing the same birthday it would have been nice to have been clued in earlier about all this.

I will have to double check as now I am worried that I won't even make it past July 4th, much less the 31st...

Anyway, not much going on here otherwise, just chilling out pretty much, it's raining here and it's a rare occasion that we get rain so I might go and watch it.

P.S. only 2 more months til MY b-day!

In my head

I need a better line than, " I am so tired."

I really am, but why? I guess what I SHOULD do is have a reason to be tired. I get a relatively good amount of sleep. I need to exercise. Then I would be justified in feeling tired, not only that but I think I would feel better. I guess I should count running up and down all the steps in this house (really you would think it was an art gallery with as many steps as we have) as much as I do. That's going to be fun when we have to make them into hurdles with the gates when the kiddo gets to crawling or walking.

I think I also have an excuse since I am doing all the carrying in this pregnancy, hubby doesn't carry anything ALL day long, does he (he says it's me nagging him to do something around the house... )

Ok... well enough excuses, I should know better. Tomorrow I am going to try my best not to say " I'm so tired." .... BUT i do have a test and a practical (well pretty much another test) for 2 classes... I will report and tell you if i broke down. I hope not, but we'll see... (wow see the faith I have in myself)

Ok not the end of the world of a topic as I had initally thought, but I am getting tired of being tired and I thought if I said I wasn't tired that I wouldn't be.

Geez this is the crap that's in my head.

Wyoming day

Have you ever felt like it was a long ass day? I have and today was.

Wyoming is beautiful, (I wonder why there is only maybe 400,000 people there total?) So many picturesque qualities.

There is this town in Wyoming, called Chugwater, that is practically giving their land away... not sure of the exact price (I think like $100 bucks an acre) but the only catch is that you have to commit to living there 2 years. I guess this is to boost the local economy. The town at this time has maybe 260 people. I wonder how many people can/will move there? It didn't look like there was much to offer in the town jobwise, and it's hardly commutable to a bigger city. I think Cheyenne was at least 50 miles away.

I might be wrong in all this, but hey I think it's commendable, and I think it's awesome that you can own a piece of this country's land for that little. I wish we could move there.. I am sure as a nurse I could find a job, but hubby would have a much harder time. Plus it's WAY too windy there... it could have been just TODAY, but somehow I can see sheets and sheets of snow and lots and lots of wind.

But the idea is still there, why can't they[cities/bigger towns] "give" away(or at least make it reasonably priced) the land near the places where we can have the jobs? ( i just went a little parentheses crazy there... haha)

Ok, that was a random blog, but it was my thought for the day. I bid you goodnight.

Again, all the above is as factual as I remember it, but I could be wrong.

U2 - the aftermath

Fetus totally rocked out, it was awesome!

http://www.u2.com/news/index.php?mode=full&news_id=1515

Yeah I totally rocked out too.. the only bad thing was how TIRED I got.. but totally worth it, this baby has been indoctrinated into the U2 family... Hubby and his BF(no not boyfriend, but best friend) from college are going to the 2nd night (tonite) in Denver and they get to see if they can get close to them on the floor, I hope so then we can have better pictures.

And NO :( we didn't get to meet them last night. But we were very close, as soon as I have some pix (didn't take digital- we were afraid of the camera Nazis, we took as disposable) I will put them up here...

The only thing I was pissed about was all the pot and liquor that people feel that they have to consume. It's disgusting... and on top of that I wonder how they remember the concert or even have a good time.

Also this was the first time they have played ZooStation since the Zoo TV tour...

It was awesome, you who were not there have a right to feel jealous! I am jealous that hubby is going AGAIN tonite, but I am glad that I got to go before Jr/Jrette arrives.

Maybe we can go again, but I don't know if Mom will babysit cause WE want to go to a concert?

Also my congrats go out to our friends Becky and Greg for getting us our VIP seats and the awesome dinner and did I say the awesome VIP seats already! Thanks y'all!!!

U2

Ahhh... the EVE before I get to see my beloved U2... ( I wonder if they are in the area yet?)

I wonder what kind of toothpaste they use...

I am so excited, I hope we get to meet them... one of our friends scored hubby and me VIP tickets... so can't WAIT!

Ok well have to get some sleep since we will be up ALL day and NIGHT tomorrow.

I will report as soon as I can.

Sleepless nights

Wow, yet another day. What shall my topic be? The eternal suckage of the gasoline prices on my wallet (well really his wallet). Or better yet, about how I can never fall asleep anymore. This is disturbing me, I thought it was because of the test that I had in my Anatomy and Physiology, but alas it was not (I did well, for the geeks who want to know). I think it was my impending sense of doom. I feel that life will NEVER ever be the same, but I don't know how the sameness will become different, does that make any sense... (I didn't think so)

I don't think I am very mature. I still like going to concerts (to my mother's chagrin). I love to eat gobs of ice cream (despite my weight, yet I don't feel that I have "weight issues"). I love to watch old movies and make my hubby watch chick flicks (while later he admits that they are good and made him think-- the latest was "The Notebook", we had a good talk about that one) .

I also just love to do what I want. Is this selfish? Now I have to start putting someone else first, before hubby (stop laughing... there are many days I think of him before me) and me.

Is this a learned thing? I mean my whole life it's been about ME, so how do you go from that to it being about SOMEONE ELSE? (someone TELL ME!!!)

uh oh.. hubby just drove up... gotta make up an excuse about why dinner isn't ready yet...

wish me luck!

Bollywood Dreams

Not that I have time for movies, but oh how I love them... I have been re-watching a few of my favorite Bollywood (google Bollywood if you have no clue what I am talking about) movies... I am sure for real movie buffs they remember Laagan. It crossed over into American at the time of the 2003 or 2002 Oscars. It was pretty good, but the modern ones are even better. The thing about Indian (well Bollywood) movies is that they are ALL musicals. I don't think I have seen any (even non-Bollywood) Indian movies where there were zero musical sequences. I think that after that year was when we had, in America, Moulin Rouge and Chicago, and then the musical cinema, in America, was over. I heard the reviews for the Phantom of the Opera movie were not so hot... sad.. I saw it in the theater (live performance) and I thought it was spectacular... I think that there are some that should stay live performance, and some that should be made into movies. I am worried about John Travolta possibly playing drag in the upcoming movie version of Hairspray, that could be scary. We'll see.

** Disclaimer : I am not a theater major or any sort of qualified person in the arts, this is just MY opinion, so if you disagree, be nice. Thank you.

Hehe... funny thought.. you know the word "google" can also be used as a verb.. as in google this or google that, but it's also a proper noun.... (this is the teacher voice inside my head)

P.S. Ok, just remembered a great movie I saw.. and this was a bit of a departure as it was not STRAIGHT bollywood and campy stuff... It's called "The Legend of Bhaghat Singh" I am not sure if I spelled the name right. This was a powerful movie, (true story). If anyone watches it or has seen it, let me know what you thought of it.

Steak and Strawberries

Today was a wonderful day, went to the lake with the dog and hubby. Got a bit tan (I rarely burn) and then had a steak dinner (hey it was on sale at Safeway) and then had strawberries and chocolate for dessert. And guess what? There was NO anniversary, no birthday, no special reason. It was so nice because it was spontaneous. We just reveled in the day. How rare is that? Though I did have to "coerce" him into playing hooky. School sucks on gorgeous days.

I love life.

Oy Vey!

I am so freaking tired.. have I said that enough yet, I have a feeling it's a theme here... But really I have good reason to be. I was up at 5 am, at my CNA clinical from 7 am - 3pm, and then at my chemistry lab from 6 pm to 9 pm (and that was for a practical.. a test) PLUS I have to get a paper done, a write-up for a lab tomorrow, and homework in same lab, talk about BUSY... but again this goes back to procrastination, I tend to do that a lot. I have got to stop that. But how... ?(insert whiny voice here)

Ok so instead of this blogging crap that I am doing now, I should be researching lung volumes and respiration, but how appetizing and interesting does that sound when I wish I were snug in a bed and having my eyes lusciously closed and just resting... oh that sounds better than chocolate. hmmm... zzzzzzz... Thunk.... (that was my head hitting this desk)... back to work!

So what?

I don't understand ambivalence. You either do or you don't.

Dicuss this amongst yourselves. Maybe I will come back and expand on this, but this way it seems more profound. I have been looking to become more profound. Good Luck.

I am back, here is something else I don't get : "irreconcilable differences"?
1) it seems redundant
2) Can't most differences be worked out? Lately it seems that it's the easiest cop-out
and it's a great way to avoid talking and learning from past mistakes.
3) I need to stop reading celebrity gossip.

Here is a funny for the day.

I was helping out at my college yesterday to bring awareness to college students that they need to drink responsibly. We asked students to sign a pledge saying that they would not drink and drive, they would be the designated if their friends had been drinking, and that they would try to be more responsible. This was to prevent tragedies, similar to the ones that have recently happened in Colorado universities, from ever happening again

Well the funny part is coming. A brunette was walking by and I asked her,"Would you like to pledge?" and before I could explain exactly what she would pledge for, she replied," I can't, I am a Delta Zeta."

I almost fell out of my chair laughing when she walked off.

(added note : we had signs stating what it about, and if you know me, you KNOW that I am not and was never in the sorority/fraternity scene or had anything to do with the greek system on campus, the one I am at now, and my previous univ, the university of Texas at Austin, ---- I miss that place so much!)

Mooing

The reason for the name of this Site Posted by Hello

Someone told me to clue them in to why this site was named the way it was. I love to collect cows.. usually the black and white variety... I have quite a few, and now, in our new home, they are in the guest bedroom, looks a little bit Country, but that's ok, being OUT here it fits in just perfect!

This all started because of my Sister, RMR, she gave me a little Mary Moos collectible cow for the occasion of my engagement to Hubby. Ever since then I have been obsessed, even had one as my cake topper at my Catholic wedding.

Mooing Continued

My collection (continued) (they are above the care bears) Posted by Hello

I also loved the Care Bears, yes yes I am giving them to the baby when he/she is older. It will have a little army of all MY toys...

Paula Abdul & procrastination

Sorry it's been so long since I have written... so many tests to study for... so little time... but I procrastinate.. I have a paper due tomorrow that I could have written like a MONTH ago, but didn't cause I was super focused on other classes. Gotta play catch up now...

So what else I have I procrastinated about? I have waited to sign up for "those" childbirth classes that they recommend you take. Seems icky... but hey I am a bit immature... yeah and can you believe that I WANT to be a nurse.

This is a rambling blog, no real plot or sense at all here... hubby is so practical, so not like me. I guess that's what makes us a good team, opposites attract, (that was a great song by Paula Abdul : I have always wondered if she was part middle Eastern... the last name sounds a little bit that way...)

Not much else, I guess I will start on my paper, by the way, it's about abortion, how's that for irony, and pregnant lady who is writing about it. I think it should be interesting.

Organizmo

So I am supposed to be organized you say? I am in some areas and not so much in others. With school I am very neat and tidy and have all my papers in order, when I was working, same thing, every thing was catergorized and indexed and all that jazz. But at HOME... well that is a whole different story. Hubby is the one that is neat and organized, I think almost bordering on OCD. He occasionally loses his mind and lets things go for like a few hours, but for the most part he is the glue that holds the house together.

Now being Indian this is supposed to cause me shame, or something, but I don't think it does. I am supposed to cook and clean and fold and iron and do it very well, but I really don't. I can do it, but I just don't because half the time he redoes what I have done. I love my hubby, and if he asked I would do it, but he kicks butt and he does it better than I ever could. So yes it's sad that I don't carry the torch for all women, especially Indian women, but hey I have a clean house, and outside of home everything else is organized.

I was just saying.. hey I am proud that my American (white) husband is so into my culture and embraces it wholly...

In 4.5 months this will all be shot to hell.

Bitchy Blog

Well I warned you... I had a good time out East. It was amazing... I was prepared to fend off the Easterners whom I thought would be really pissy and mean to me, but I think they know that spring will approach and that they will be out of the cold winter hell and everyone that I met on the trip and the random ppl that I asked directions for in NYC (with the exception of a dyed red-headed 50ish woman who wanted to look 30 ish) were so helpful and nice, and they didn't even steal my wallet...

The thing that sucked the MOST about Spring break is that I got pneumonia/bronchitis... But mom was cool and she made me all the good Indian food that was going to make me feel better... and man let me tell you...it was good food.

Also a recommendation... don't get sick when pregnant, it's like having 2 or 3 dieseases at the same time.

For those of you who want to know (and know me) I am registered at Target and Babiesrus.com. So get with it and check it out online.

Ok so maybe it wasn't that bitchy of a blog, but I warn you.. I am prone to mood swings.

Baby O'Mine

So it's most likely a girl... it was being VERY modest and not really showing much at the ultrasound... we got to see all the limbs ( with 10 fingers and 10 toes) and the spine and the bottom, and the head.

Very cute kid.

But most of the evidence is leaning to this little one being a girl, we will have another ultrasound on the 29th, and maybe we can get some more definition in the pics. Will post ultrasound pix when I can... I will try to get online when I am out east, but remember, dial-up is soooo very slow.

Toodles... and have a great St. Patrick's Day!

Many Moons...

Oh crap I just lost what I thought was a very good entry... the fates have decided otherwise and now I get to re-write...

Well essentially I was saying how nice it was to be out of the city life (we're not on a farm). We like to see the stars at night from our backyard. For those of you who don't have one I am sorry. It's so nice to sit out on a breezy night and sip iced tea and just relax. It's still to cold here in Colorado, but I am thinking of the day that I will do that.

Most cities are nice to visit, but I just don't think I want to live in one again. Not that suburbs are great either. I think where we are is an in-between.

Going up to the Big Apple to visit the parental units and extended family. So after this Thursday it will probably be a week before I can blog again, unless I can borrow dad's computer and even then it will be dial-up (blech). But I will come back and tell you all about my spring break.

Also for those of you who want to know. I will be posting the result of the ultrasound this Thursday. Hopefully this kid isn't shy and we will be able to determine if it's a boy, girl, or a cute little alien.. hehe

Also please feel free to comment, if you hate the site or you want to tell me that it stinks you can always tell me and post anonymously. Also if you love it, but are just a shy person you can do that too... I would love to hear back from my worshippers... oops I meant readers...

Warning : Depressing thoughts ahead

So it really sucks when you don't do as well at something as you thought. I hope that's not the way this kid turns out, we have high hopes. But then you see people that are thoughtless, evil, crazy, or just wasting their lives. It makes me shudder sometimes.

All I can do is do the best I can. Protect and love the kid.

What a world we live in now.

175,000 ppl died this year because of a massive underwater earthquake.
2000+ people died at the hand of terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001
and many more countless things we have read and seen on TV, and countless that we haven't even heard about.

I guess I never understood why some people didn't want children. I always thought it was something selfish, but maybe they see the world and the thought of living with all this just is overwhelming when you have to teach the kid about the things that you cannot hide anymore.

Wow.. a little bit heavy...

Not to despair, life is like this, you have good times, and wonderful happy moments, and you have to take that in hand with the bad things, otherwise it really wouldn't be a life.

Dweebs

Gosh I haven't heard that word in a long time, like since the '80s. But I bet that describes me. Yeah well maybe a little. I always liked to read growing up. Anything, it could be a cereal box, or the side of the toothpaste thing, or even the bottom of a box of Kleenex... pretty sad...

Dweebs come in all shapes and sizes.

I like my biochemistry class that I am taking now, have an A so far this semester, that probably makes me a dweeb, but honestly I don't spend much time outside class studying... does this mean that I am a prodigy?

But there are some classes that I can beat my head into the wall studying for (probably not good for the fetus) and yet I don't get it, so maybe I am normal. We'll see.

The hubby is being a dweeb right now, and yet I know he's not a prodigy because he is smelling his odorous socks and killing his small quantity of brain cells.

Whatta man

Yeah ok, this one is about the hubby.

He is doing A LOT around the house. He is finishing a room in the basement (all by himself) and he is also going to work on his boat, and today he even made dinner.

He is definitely a better more patient cook than I am. He has more patience to stand and stir than I do. I usually end up getting distracted and burning food, and then we have to go out... I wonder if this is what is contributing to my weight...

And now for my Spring Break, I get to go and visit my parents up in NJ. I am so excited. Living so far away and only seeing them 2 or 3 times a year is super hard, and he understands that. Plus he gets a week where he doesn't have me "hovering".

He's a good husband, definitely a keeper.
